Take the cross away from the gospel, and you are left with mere gossip.

Take the first from the second and you'd have self-righteousness or self-condemnation leading to damnation.
Or take the second from the first and you'd have a waste of the first, and spiritual laziness and uselessness.

Peter Tan once put it, "The cross is not just a place we are saved, but where we die (then made alive in the spirit)."

After accepting the finished works of Christ on the cross, the next step is to take up your cross daily for the unfinished works.
After accepting His death, the next step is to accept your death.
Being ready to die!
