What is your attitude towards the coming of Jesus Christ as the Messiah and the Savior of the world?

Mary, the future mother of Jesus declared in the song "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior ..." (Luke 1: 46-47).

Does your heart "make the Lord great"? Does your spirit rejoice in "God, my Savior"?

Great is the mercy of the Lord upon us. Mary's heart was filled to the brim with thanksgiving for the privilege of serving the Lord God, as a humble girl.

Because we have been saved by the grace of God through Jesus Christ, we have the wonderful privilege and opportunity to magnify the Lord with our lives. We have been saved to serve you. Our hearts have been made new by the new birth and we rejoice in God our Savior.

The Lord God is great and is worthy of our worship. Mary proclaimed the greatness of the Lord, when she declared: "My soul magnifies the Lord".

With a cheerful heart she cried out with enthusiasm: "My spirit rejoices in God my Savior".

Has the Holy Spirit put a deep joy in your heart? Does that deep, deep peace make you burst at times, rejoicing in the great salvation that God has brought into your life? There is a peace and joy in the heart of the Christian that is deep and deep, because God has placed it there. It is fitting that our hearts rejoice and continue to rejoice in the great and hidden things that God has done.

"Rejoice in the Lord always." Again I say: Rejoice! " (Phil 4: 4) The apostle Paul tells us to share that joy with others.

The Christian must be so full of joy, that his heart overflows with rejoicing so that the rest of the world is in awe and wants to know the source.

The hymnbook of the Jewish people is full of joy and rejoicing, even in the most turbulent circumstances.

Maria's song was full of quotations from the Psalms. Jesus later learns to sing the same songs while sitting on his mother's lap.

"My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior" (Luke 1: 46-47, compare with Psalm 34: 2 f; 35: 9). She can sing because "the Mighty One has done great works for me, and his name is holy, and His mercy is upon generation after generation, toward those who fear Him" (v. 49-50; cf. Ps. 103: 17; 98: 1; 118: 15).

The Lord God has done great and mighty works, and we can rejoice and continue to rejoice with our hearts full of praise and worship to our great God.

Are there some physical situations in which the Lord has delivered you? Has it saved you from some dangerous circumstances? Has it saved you from death? He has watched over you and delivered you from, in, or perhaps through violent turbulent times? Can you say with the Apostle Paul, that we are "troubled in everything, but not anguished, in distress, but not desperate, persecuted, but not forsaken, torn down, but not destroyed, carrying in the body always everywhere the death of Jesus , so that also the life of Jesus may be manifested in our bodies "(2 Cor 4: 8-10).

That is transforming the grace that makes the heart rejoice in the great and powerful things that God does in our lives. When you rejoice and remain in joy, you are experiencing the best song of liberation in life.

Are you happy that you have been freed from evil? Are you happy that you are being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ? Everything God is doing in his life at the present time is for the purpose of making him similar to the image of his Son. That should make him rejoice in all circumstances and trials.

Are you happy when the burning blast from the furnace runs out on your face? You can not do it in your own strength. Our song comes from the power that gives us "that the life of Jesus be manifested in our body, because we who live, we are always given to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh" ( 2 Cor 4: 10-11).

God puts us in new experiences, which are beyond us, and makes us lose hope in the flesh, and we cry out: "Lord, save me." That is when we rejoice and He can use us for his glory.
