sabbath reasoning

i welcome you to my blog today for another topic, is always a pleasure sharing the word of God wit you all. I've been so busy with school lately but am back with you all again.

act17:2-3
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

so much time exists between one Sabbath and the next. in between are non-Sabbath days, meaning they are days for servile work to be done ,to generate income and pursue one's pleasures. the apostle Paul from his days as a pharisee, had known and practiced the keeping of the Sabbath. and now after that he had upgraded his believe to the new way of following Jesus Christ we notice that he continue to keep the Sabbath customarily.

today's verses evince that there was no controversy on which day to observe the rest(the seventh day or the first day). there was already a custom for the apostle to keep the Sabbath. the people with whom he reasoned were also accustomed to the keeping of the seventh day Sabbath. he did not find it expedient to waive it on the grounds of faith, grace, or excuse. he had a very important issue to resolve with the people. it was quite pressing that it would take Paul days days to settle. yet he had to patiently wait the whole days of each week that he was in the city to continue the discourse.

if you were faced with the same challenge, how would you conduct your service? would the Sabbath still matter? would it be knocked off the Decalogue in order to satisfy the urgency or the curiosity of the people? Paul did not think so and you should have no problem with that. if you missed the last Sabbath, you have tomorrow to prepare for the next. remember to keep it holy!
