Be Different From All
The words of Paul the apostle to the Christians in Corinth are very crucial in the life of every Christian, particUlarly in terms of our dealings and relationships with those not in Christ. Jesus rightly observed that though we are in the world, we are not of the world. Christians are a chosen generation, a peculiar people, a royal priesthood ....... Our peculiarity must be demonstrated in the ways we relate with ungodly people.
Text: 2 Corinthians 6: 14-18
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Paul warned the Corinthians In verse '1, to be careful so as not to receive the grace of God in vain. This warning was based on the encroachment of paganism into the holy fath. It is quite difficult for darkness to exist together with light. Believers are known as the children of light i.e. chiidren of God who dweiis in light inaccessible!
Again, the gospel according to John asserted that in Christ was life; and the life was thelight of men-and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. As Christians, we have gained life in Christ, which is our light. We have thus become the light (and the salt) of the world. We should illuminate the world by striving to uphold the standard of mercy, righteousness and justice as prescribed In the Holy Writ.
The Christians in Corinth were getting involved in the practice of paganism which was prevalent' In their immediate environment. This passage, Which became concluded in;
2 Corithians. 7: 1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Clearly shows that Christians should avoid making alliances of any kind with pagans. Though paganism seems to have lost its old forms; it is absolutely conspicuous that neo-paganism significantly threatens to submerge the entire world. All of the old essentials of paganism are still very operative. They have been modified and gloriously polished to make them very appealing to modern man. .
What's more? The deifIcation of humanity, the unimaginable emphasis on the secular, the material, the sensual and devilish still dominate the minds of people. The abandonment of ancient moral values, and the scourge of dishonesty, selfishness, occultism, uncontrollable bloodshed, lawlessness even in the topmost echelons of government all of these and many more loudly assert that paganism is still very much around.
Christianity and paganism are incompatible. Light and darkness are antithetical. Our cordiality with them is to the extent of snatching them in pity from the wrath to come, that they may come with us to trust our God.
When paul mentioned that,
He was talking about marriage. It might cause disunity when we marry someone that is fighting against what we believe in. Being different is indeed cool, that is in the right situation. Thanks for sharing.Upvoted & Resteemed

Being different is great, especially when it is for good reasons. That is why the term outstanding could be used in such a situation. It is like being between crossroads and choosing the road that you know will lead to what you need. Thanks for being awesome.
The bible talks about us as christians living different lives from those 'in the world' . In our world today there are lots of hardships, trials and earthly pleasures that can change and cause us to change our beliefs or backslide or worse, drop them entirely. We have to be strong in faith in order to remain different. The bible urges us to shun all ungodly works and this is definitely the way to go as Christians
Understand your uniqueness because nobody was and can be like you today, so as a Christian let's drive in pride for that unique nature that God has made you to be because you are far different from everybody else in the universe, rejoice and be glad about yourself.
If walking in the path of righteousness, requires you to be different, then its the best option you have!
Being diffetent is avtuslly a good thingespecially in a positive way,children of theost high djould always be diffetentuated fro others,and the raod which leads to salvation is always narrow and filked with thorns while that which leads to distruction seems very wide and beautiful and children of the world always goes trogh that so not standing with the crowd is avtually good.
Being different is a very good especially in the right way ,as a Christian we suppose to be light in the darkness for others
Being distinct gives you an insight on so many things and being different also gives you an edge over the flesh when you are abiding with a difference as mentioned in the scripture. Children of God should be different.
