Ecc 9:11
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.(KJV)
I believe this verse is worth pondering over and over again. It is important because it helps to encourage a person to patiently wait on God.
I have come to understand that it does not matter your speed, your DIRECTION is also important. You run fast to no where, if you are running in the wrong direction.
Also, your strength may be an advantage, but it does not determine your victory in a battle. Application of the right STRATEGY wins the battle. This was one grace David enjoyed and he won all his battles in the bible. He always sort for, and was always given divine guidance on the strategy to use for his battles.
Furthermore, wisdom is good and even better than strength but then, it needs to be recognized by people. If your wisdom is not recognized it becomes worthless. Ecc 9:15 talked about a poor wise man whose wisdom could save his nation, however, he was forgotten and remained wretched because his wisdom was despised. On the other hand, Solomon's wisdom was reconized and men of high reputation sort to hear him speak and brought gifts to him.
In addition, your dept of understanding does not determine the amount of riches you acquire. There are many professors and men of understanding who are not considered to be rich; but there are billionaires of this age, who did not even complete their studies in the university before acquiring riches.
What's more, there are many talented people who are nowhere to be found because they have not been given the chance to manifest. Skills need to be revealed; If you are not given the opportunity to showcase your skills, you would remain hidden. There are so many talents waiting to be revealed. But when the set time comes, they will manifest.
Time and Chance happens to everyone. This is the key. There is a time for sowing, and a time for reeping. God gives everyone the opportunity. When your time comes, the usual would be forgotten, and protocols may be broken. When it was time for David to be anointed to reign over Isreal, he had to be fetched from where he was keeping the sheep. Protocols had to be broken. (See 1 Samuel 16). The beautiful thing is that we have God who is our Eternal Father. He lives out of time, but His works are seen in time. So be encouraged because your time is now.
Ps 102:13
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. (KJV)
You have sowed, prayed and waited. And finally, your time to be favoured has come. Be encouraged.
