THE ANATOMY OF SPIRITUAL WELLNESS
One of the scientific words that scared me a bit when I was much more younger (so to say) is the term anatomy. Each time I heard it being mentioned, I instinctively associated it with the cutting and piercings into one’s body, and the gastrointestinal. In fact, I didn't like imagining the internal structure of the human body. Perhaps, the reason I’ve grown up to really admire those in the medical and related profession so much. 😁 😂
Okay, enough of the story! Let's get into the subject of today. We shall be considering what I entitled “The Anatomy Of Spiritual Wellness”. It's my sincere desire that Christ himself will teach us in a beautiful way, and we would be blessed.
The expression in the scriptural text above was Jesus’ explanation to the people around him at that point in time, to clear any possible confusion off the atmosphere which the Pharisees and Scribes could have spurred with their statement in the preceding verses.
Let's see...
Verse 1-2
Isn't it Interesting? They (Pharisees and co.) had come all the way from Jerusalem... to do what?To propagate their religious traditions.
Jesus's response to them...
Verse 3-9
He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
The spiritual Anatomy… Your Heart is the core organ!
Verse 17-20
Here, in order to drive his point home, Christ explained the anatomy of the human gastrointestinal system...
Naturally, the food we eat goes into the mouth, find their way into the stomach, while absorption takes place in the intestines and then, the waste is being excreted out through the bowels. In contrast to this pattern, Jesus redirected the ever carnal and legalistic minds of the Pharisees to a more weightier matter and certainly, a better anatomy they should be more concerned about— the way the heart of man functions.
Implication
God weighs our hearts, and the state of our hearts is what determines our spiritual wellbeing and not the food we eat and the way they are being eaten. Also, the extent of Godly experiences our lives will attract or experience is dependent on the state of our hearts. That's why we must guide our hearts with all diligence in order not to allow toxins to get into our system, which can in turn ruin (defy) not only our lives but that of others around us.

The wisdom of Our Lord Jesus Christ is incomparable and he has an answer to everything, well he was in the foundation of the world. While he is very attentive to the traditions, he shows us the way of the revelation of his word that is alive and effective, our words produce actions and if we misuse it, it contaminates what enters through it and goes out to the latrine. thanks for sharing.
