Lord Jesus Christ has died for our sins so that we may be free from condemnation and may live with him in heaven forever.
26 An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise and go south along the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is desert. 27 So he got up and went. And it came to pass that an Ethiopian, an eunuch, an official of Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all his treasures, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 returned sitting in his chariot, and reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, Come near and join yourself to that chariot. 30 Philip came and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, But do you understand what you read? 31 He said: And how can I, unless someone teaches me? And he begged Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The passage of Scripture that he read was this:
Like a sheep to death he was led;
And like a dumb lamb before its shearer,
So he did not open his mouth.
33 In his humiliation justice was not done to him;
But his generation, who will count it?
Because she was taken from the earth his life.
34 The eunuch answered and said to Philip, Tell me, I pray you, of whom does the prophet say this; of himself, or of someone else? 35 Then Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning from this scripture, preached to him the gospel of Jesus. 36 And as they went along the road, they came to a certain water, and the eunuch said, Here is water; What prevents me from being baptized? 37 Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may well. There are actions that often speak much louder than words, just like that old saying that says, "a picture is worth a thousand words." There are actions that communicate much more than words and baptism is one of those actions that reinforce the message since it is a powerful image that manifests our experience of salvation.
When we are immersed in the waters of baptism we are proclaiming the truth of the Gospel, we proclaim that Christ has died for our sins and has been buried, in this way we at this moment are identifying ourselves, being under water is the image that our old man is buried, when they take us out of the water we are manifesting our new life in Christ as reborn in him, our union with Jesus Christ forever.
4 For we were buried with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4
When we are baptized apart from that public declaration of our faith in Christ, we are also manifesting our confidence and our assurance that we will have a future resurrection together with Christ, we will be resurrected or transformed to receive a body of glory to live in eternally with him.

Porque fue quitada de la tierra su vida.
34 Respondiendo el eunuco, dijo a Felipe: Te ruego que me digas: ¿de quién dice el profeta esto; de sí mismo, o de algún otro? 35 Entonces Felipe, abriendo su boca, y comenzando desde esta escritura, le anunció el evangelio de Jesús. 36 Y yendo por el camino, llegaron a cierta agua, y dijo el eunuco: Aquí hay agua; ¿qué impide que yo sea bautizado? 37 Felipe dijo: Si crees de todo corazón, bien puedes. Y respondiendo, dijo: Creo que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios. 38 Y mandó parar el carro; y descendieron ambos al agua, Felipe y el eunuco, y le bautizó. 39 Cuando subieron del agua, el Espíritu del Señor arrebató a Felipe; y el eunuco no le vio más, y siguió gozoso su camino.

Existen acciones que frecuentemente hablan mucho más que palabras, al igual que ese antiguo refrán que dice, "vale mas una imagen que mil palabras". Hay acciones que comunican mucho más que las palabras y el bautismo es una de esas acciones que refuerzan el mensaje ya que es una poderosa imagen que manifiesta nuestra experiencia de salvación.
Cuándo nos sumergen en las aguas del bautismo estamos proclamando la verdad del Evangelio, proclamamos que Cristo ha muerto por nuestros pecados y ha sido sepultado, de esta forma nosotros en este momento nos estamos identificando, estando bajo el agua es la imagen que nuestro viejo hombre es sepultado, cuando nos sacan del agua estamos manifestando nuestra nueva vida en Cristo como renacidos en él, nuestra unión con Jesucristo para siempre.
4 Porque somos sepultados juntamente con él para muerte por el bautismo, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en vida nueva.
