But those that fell on good ground, these are those who with a good and upright heart retain the word they have heard, and bear fruit with perseverance.

Luke 8:15

"And with perseverance they bear fruit," says another version, "and if they persevere, they yield a good harvest." For a concrete and successful harvest, you just have to be patient instead of waiting. This waiting means working, believing, seeing things differently and facing many obstacles.

The sum of all this is a process that produces good results. I would like to share with you a fragment of the story found in 2 Kings 2:4,6.

And Elijah said to Elisha, Stay here now, for the Lord has sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said, As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel. And Elijah said to him again, Elisha, stay here now, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho. And Elijah said to him, I pray you, stay here, because the Lord has sent me to the Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So it was both.

What do these three phrases have in common? I would like to emphasize Elijah's attitude towards his burning desire, he will not leave Elijah, but will accompany Jesus or Jesus decided to do so. What was the desire that moved Elisha?

When they had passed, Elijah said to Elisha: Ask what you want me to do for you, before I am taken from you. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

2 Kings 2:9

Elisha had a clear goal, his vision was clear and specific. This allowed him to achieve what he wanted with purpose and determination. Did you understand? After Elijah was separated from Elisha and was promised, "he has received Him," Elisha naturally began to perform mighty works and glorify God before others.

I encourage you to follow this example of patience. You and I have the same opportunity.

Mas la que cayó en buena tierra, éstos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y dan fruto con perseverancia.

Lucas 8:15

"Y con perseverancia dan fruto", dice otra versión, "y si perseveran, dan una buena cosecha". Para una cosecha concreta y exitosa, solo hay que ser paciente en lugar de esperar. Esta espera significa trabajar, creer, ver las cosas de otra manera y afrontar muchos obstáculos.

La suma de todo esto es un proceso que produce buenos resultados. Me gustaría compartir contigo un fragmento de la historia que se encuentra en 2 Reyes 2:4,6.

Y dijo Elías a Eliseo: Quédate ahora aquí, porque Jehová me ha enviado a Bet-el. Y Eliseo dijo: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. Descendieron, pues, a Bet-el. Y Elías le volvió a decir: Eliseo, quédate aquí ahora, porque Jehová me ha enviado a Jericó. Y él dijo: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. Vinieron, pues, a Jericó. Y Elías le dijo: Te ruego que te quedes aquí, porque Jehová me ha enviado al Jordán. Y él dijo: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. Fueron, pues, ambos.

¿Qué tienen en común estas tres frases? Me gustaría enfatizar la actitud de Elías ante su ardiente deseo, no dejará a Elías, sino que acompañará a Jesús o Jesús decidió hacerlo. ¿Cuál fue el deseo que movió a Eliseo?

Cuando habían pasado, Elías dijo a Eliseo: Pide lo que quieras que haga por ti, antes que yo sea quitado de ti. Y dijo Eliseo: Te ruego que una doble porción de tu espíritu sea sobre mí.

2 Reyes 2:9

Eliseo tenía una meta clara, su visión era clara y específica. Esto le permitió lograr lo que quería con propósito y determinación. ¿Entendiste? Después de que Elías fue separado de Eliseo y le prometieron: "Lo ha recibido", Eliseo naturalmente comenzó a realizar obras poderosas y a glorificar a Dios delante de los demás.
