We have an audience committed to hearing the gospel
The Bible is full of examples of people who suffered both physically and mentally. A clear example of this is when Paul wrote a letter while in prison, in this case to the brothers in Philippi.
All the saints greet you, and especially those of Caesar's house
Philippians 4:22
In this case, the ministry of Paul, the “minister to the Gentiles,” was greatly restricted while he was in prison. In any case, Paul assures the Philippians that this imprisonment is not a restriction, but a starting point for spreading the gospel. Paul was imprisoned among Roman soldiers.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
Paul's stay in Caesar's palace was the time when his greatest epistle reached its greatest reach. But those who heard them came to the knowledge of Christ through Paul and became "kinder" Roman soldiers.
The soldiers believed they had a prisoner of war, but in reality he was the one they were preaching the gospel to. The soldiers had no choice but to listen to Paul! “In the midst of problems, blessings have reappeared.”

Filipenses 4:13
