THE MAJOR REASONS WHY PEOPLE DON'T PAY TITHES

All over the world, people have various opinions about tithing. However, the most acceptable meaning is; “A tithe is ten percent (10%) of someone´s annual produce, possessions or earnings being paid to the church as a way of showing gratitude to GOD and also for the growth and support of HIS church” while tithing basically refers to the practice of paying tithe. In prehistoric times, tithes were often paid in kind, such as agricultural products. Today, tithes are voluntary and paid in cash or cheques. Tithing has been practiced by Christians since time immemorial. There are so many verses in the bible that talked about tithes and tithing but the verses that caught my attention is when the Israelites were commanded to tithe as seen in (Leviticus 27:30 & Numbers 18:25-28).
Unfortunately, in recent times, people have been castigating the practice of tithing as a Christian activity. I for one actually believe that there are two major reasons why people are against tithe viz:

1.They can´t show off with it, since it is a covenant between you and God.
These set of people feel bad about giving tithe because people won´t see what they are doing or the amount they are paying. Their Facebook, snapchat and Instagram friends won´t witness their tithing endeavours. They always prefer to go about with their camera and record every act of their charity show-off. As a result of the fact that they can't record their show-off, they refrain from tithing altogether. Moreover, they won’t render financial help to family members because social media won’t know about it. They are always in the habit of castigating about tithe on social media but willingly be the first to donate cash when there is call from the lectern for cash in church. They gladly do this of course because people will see them.

2.They don’t give freely, their thought always is either, “what is the tithe money used for?” or “what if the pastor and the church council is embezzling the funds?”
The thing is, when you give money to the church, it isn’t your concern about what the church does with the money. It is supposed to be between you and God. Just see it as that, you are giving the money to the church for a just cause, to build and maintain the house of God, to help people, because God has uplift you to uplift others as well in your own little way.
SAY NO TO CASTIGATION OF TITHING!
JUST DO YOUR PART HUMBLY AND LET GOD DO THE REST!
