When You Are Tempted
The devil who is the enemy of believers prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. Righteous and staunch Christians who hold unto their integrity are often his right targets. The devil will stop at nothing until he sees the fall of a righteous Christian.
What hinders his heinous activities, progress and become a threat to his kingdom is a righteous man or woman who is prayerful, and have the word in him or her. He knows the prayer of that righteous man availeth much and he is sealed, protected from very side by God therefore making it hard to penetrate his defence and cause havoc.
The devil will still not back off just because of how well the righteous man or woman is protected or secured by God's power.
He will throw his fiery darts at him till he struck him down. Take the case of Job for example, Satan knew how powerful the man was yet he tried all he could to see his downfall and even his death if it wasn't for God's order concerning Job's life.
We as believers of God are not exempted from any temptation or attacks from the devil. The one we follow was tempted in every way yet he overcame all. The same grace that worked in favour of Jesus and made him stood above temptation is made available to us today.
If Jesus was tempted but could overcome all then we can also overcome every temptation.
We should always stick to the word of God let it dwell in us to be able to guide us and help us in times of temptation.
When tempted remember God's word just like Jesus did. The word should be our guide and it is what will order our steps so we don't fall into temptation.
Throughout the temptation of Christ he quoted the Scripture which the devil couldn't stand but to back off. It is so hard defeating a Christian who knows the Scriptures and work with the Scripture. That Christian is untouchable, unbreakable and indefatigable.
The word of God is God's power and as we keep feeding our spirit with the word we strengthen it to have power to dominate over the flesh that often leads us into temptation. Friends if there is any powerful thing to winning battles, temptation and overcoming the devil's schemes then it is the word.
Stick to the word and there will be nothing to lead you into temptation.
