The Power of Love

Mighty bodies of water cannot extinguish love, rivers cannot put it out. If a man were to give all the wealth of his house for love, he would surely be viewed with contempt. Song of Solomon 8:7

Love is the greatest force on earth. There is nothing as powerful as the power of love. It is stronger than death, Love sometimes make people to do foolish things and behave in an unreasonable way.

The above Scriptures talks about the power of love and shows us how potent it is. It says Lots of water cannot put it out. Rivers cannot carry it away. A wealthy man might give everything that he has to buy someone’s love. But people would tell him that he was very silly.

Love make people do silly things, take for example people who are in love; they really don't care about anything because they are not moved by a reason but love.

People who are in love can easily do anything that pleases the one they love and it doesn't matter how much it will cost them, even if it will cost them their life.

love was the only reason why God gave His only begotten son to die for sinful mankind. He expressed His unconditional love to us when didn't even deserve it.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17

God never condemned us but saved us from the power of sin and death. By His greater love He brought us close to the throne of grace. He commanded his love to us while we were yet sinners.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God could forgive us, be gracious and merciful to us because of love. Love was the only reason. The greater love was what made Him sacrifice His son for us and then that same love overcame the power of death. Love is indeed stronger than death. Love will defeat anything and it abides forever.

God commands us to love one another like He first loved us. If we love one another there will be no place for schism or division among us. Sin will have no place in our life and we will be able to forgive one another because love covers multitude of sin.

The love of many are now becoming cold these days and that is why we are not experiencing so much manifestations of God's power, for God is moved when we express our love towards one another.

Remember this: God is love and His power is always seen as when we love one another.
