IGNORANCE: A GREAT TOOL SATAN USES AGAINST BELIEVERS OF GOD
Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11
Our lives most of the times have been endangered by the things we totally had no knowledge about. Also our quest to know and understand many issues sometimes lands us into trouble. Ignorance is a great tool that Satan uses against believers of God. Satan will always make sure you don't know something and then will use it to his advantage.
What destroys people is what they don't know. The Bible says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...Hosea 4:6. What we don't know can really destroy us. The lives of many people have been destroyed because the devil kept them from knowing the truth and told them lies and eventually led them to destruction.
Many people have become drug addict, prostitutes, criminals, robbers because the devil told them there is nothing wrong with that and due to ignorance they became his prey. I pray that you don't be ignorant of Satan's devices.
In Apostle Paul's message to the Corinthians he said to them:
Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. What Paul is saying is that we are not ignorant of the devils cunning or subtitle ways which he uses to take advantage of us.
Satan has evil thoughts and perception which he uses to always excel in his ways. We us believers need to know more about whom we are dealing with.
Satan uses his intellect against your ignorance.
The bible describes Satan as very subtle and cunning foe or adversary. This kind of intellect he possesses is what he always uses to his advantage. When Paul says for we are not ignorant. He is saying we know him and his ways or mindset. He is a crafty foe and his ways are full of deception and lies and his purpose or mindset is to steal, to kill and to destroy. John 10:10
It is about time we have knowledge of the enemy and how operates to gain advantage.
THE FALL OF MAN DUE TO IGNORANCE
From the Scriptures I discovered that the problem of man all started because of ignorance and curiosity.
They didn't know their enemy the devil.
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. Gen.3:1
What man didn't know was that they were dealing with an enemy who was very crafty and subtitle. It is dangerous if you don't know the character of the adversary you are dealing with.
They were too curious to discover everything on their own.
Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes , and a tree desirable to make one wise , she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and He ate. Gen.3:6-7
Secondly, man wanted to find out that kind of knowledge which can make them as God. We as human beings cannot understand everything about God and that is why he wants us to always have faith and obey and not trying to understand everything.
God gave them instructions concerning his will and wanted them to just obey and nothing else. They tried to get the details from unknown personality who they did not know was a liar and that landed them into trouble.
Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
Genesis 2:15-17
God said to them that they should eat every tree freely but not the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for the day they eat they shall surely die. He wasn't talking about an instant death or physical death but a spiritual death.
The devil deceived them because their ignorance about the kind of death that will befall them should they eat the fruit.
It is good to always stick to the Scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to direct us. Having knowledge and understanding is good but it must come from God. The Bible says:
For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; Proverbs 2:6
Your knowledge and understanding must come from God and not from any where else. A knowledge which is not from God will eventually mislead and land you into trouble.
Nice one @collinz, the devil sometimes tries to deceived us by making what is sin looks normal before everyone. That why always out Lord tells us to aware of the devil deceitful ways.
