GROW IN THE LORD

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up my childish ways. 1 Corinthians 13:11

childhood is undoubtedly the most sweetest period of ones life. it feels good when you are a child, your parents take care of all your needs and everyone treats you with care. Being a child comes with many benefits as well as many challenges.

You are always seen as a weakling and someone who doesn't understand life nd can hardly handle all the affairs of this life. This is one reason why adults don't engage children in deeper issues or hand over anything valuable to be in their possession. You cannot be a caretaker of any great inheritance until you attain or reach a certain age and come to a level of maturity.

I do not think any wise or sensible person will hand over or leave to the care of a little boy an inheritance that is worth billions.

From the Scripture above we understand how Paul lived and behaved in any stage of his life. According to the Apostle he behaved like a child, acted, thought like a child, spoke like a child and even reasoned like a child. However he never behaved like a child when he came of age, he never thought, spoke and reason like a child anymore.

Brethrens, God wants us to grow and come to the level where we will think, speak, behave and reason like a adults and not like children. The only way we can be entitled to our godly heritage and possessors of all things is to grow in the Lord.

It will be hard for us to grasp or understand what God tells us in His word or reveals to us if we remain and live as children.

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Therefore you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:1-7

We understand from the Scripture that a Christian cannot or will not be entitled to anything in Lord until he or she grows. That Christian is just like a servant or a slave. If when he ought to teach but still another teaches him then he is still a child.

God wants to grow so we don't become subject to others will. We reign with Christ and that is the righful place God wants us to be. We have become God's sons and as sons we are entitled to every blessings that is in Christ.
