As far as I know, 2nd Timothy was written by Paul.. the self-proclaimed "apostle" who never actually met Jesus in person..
and Paul actually taught a different doctrine than Jesus.
Jesus Christ taught that one must make the ultimate sacrifice (everything) to understand the truth but Paul made it as easy as repeating a few words and adopting a belief system (religion).

John was not the first Gospel that was written.. the book of Mark was.
So if a person wants to see the words attributed to Jesus Christ with the least amount of revisions, the book of Mark would probably be the first source to check.
