POWER TO RULE OVER THE FLESH

Power connotes capacity, ability and strength.

Ruling has to do with having control over something, more like dominating over something.

In essence power to rule over the flesh connotes the ability/strength to over dominion over the flesh.

Man is a spirit that has a dwelling place in the flesh.

As man we are earthen vessels which means that we are imperfect vessels.

The flesh of man cannot be perfect but the spirit of God is incorruptible.

Perfection is when our spirit is aligned with the spirit if God. Apostle Paul said "the things i do not want to do are those things i find myself doing.

We have to pay our debt to the flesh that is why even when we want to do something important, sleep comes.

We need power in order not to be subjected to the flesh. No matter the willingness of the spirit, the flesh has a say.

That is why scripture said in matthew 26 vs 41 "Watch and pray so that you don't fall into any temptation, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Disciples were men of like passion, what they did we can also do, Even Christ died manifesting flesh when he said "if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me".

THE FOUNDATION OF POWER TO RULE OVER THE FLESH.

John 1 vs 11 says "He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him".

Vs 12 says "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God".

The foundation of power to rule over the flesh is new birth.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. If you haven't gone through the new birth you are still full of flesh.

Christ said "he that is born of flesh is flesh and he that is born of spirit is spirit.

New birth is far from saying you are born again, Romans 8:12 says "So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh".

We are not debtors to the flesh because Christ has already paid that debt for us.

It's only a man who has experienced new birth can say that he doesn't owe the flesh any thing.

IF YOU MUST BREAK OUT IF THE FLESH

For you to achieve this, then you have stop feeding the flesh. The bible says "he that soweth to the flesh reaps corruption but to the spirit eternal life.

Each single act of flesh silences the spirit, the holy spirit does not depart but it's silenced.

In the same vein, each single act of flesh silences the spirit

It could be friends, whatever that makes you misbehave, desist from it and stop sponsoring sin in your life.

The devil is not your problem rather you are your problem.

The principle for a lust free life is hear not and see not.

Anything that weakens your spirit man short-circuits you from God.

Sin is the fall of man'spirit. If you are eaten up by lust, you can't say no to sexual immorality.

Then discipline is not enough to make a man not to lust, it can't help because the spirit is down, it takes only the fullness of spirit to resist such temptations.

Are you working in the flesh " Galatians 5 vs 19 says " Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality"

Vs 20 "idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions"

Vs 21 "envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God".

This three verses mentions ways in which one could walk in the flesh, are you struggling with any then you have to feed your spirit man and give that less attention.

The more you walk in the flesh, the more you get yourself entangled eith the devil, make a decision today and get your spirit man revived again.
