Greatness does not jump on people. You work towards it. To be lovers forever, couples must be determined to live by positive and godly principles. There must be practices and principles that guide your life and everything that happens in your house. Accordingly, there are practices you must not condone under your roof. There should be no sentiments about this.

Absence Or Irregular Family Fellowship And Devotion
In Acts 2:42, the Bible states:

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

Beloved, never allow any day pass by without you having a time of fellowship and devotion with everyone that live under your roof. If you do, you are opening g the door for the enemy to come in. Don't allow it. It does not matter how tight your schedule is, do your best to have time together as a family.

Uncooperative Visitors
From time to the, we will have visitors. As a Christian, don't allow any visitor to spoil the joy and peace you enjoy in your home. There are many visitors, especially among our friends, family members and in-laws who may not cooperate well with the belief and practices in our family. Yet we must be firm with what we stand for. Don't allow sentient where you should take your stand for God.

**Some of the common characteristics of uncooperative Visitors include:-

  1. Refusing to join us for family prayers.
  2. Wearing clothes that are ungodly.
  3. Using ungodly languages.
4 requesting for and or eat strange food and taking of alcoholic drinks.
  4. Giving support to any cause that as a Christian couple you don't believe in.

Where we have any such cases, let the man of the house, after due discussion with his wife, take necessary and appropriate steps to address the situation. In extreme cases, you may need to talk to the visitor, and where there is no change, ask him or her to leave. You do not need to wait for anything to go wrong before you take a decisive steps. Remember that if anything goes wrong, it is you and your wife that will suffer the most.

Wrong Doctrine
In Proverbs 4:2, the Bible states,

For I give you good doctrine, forsake not my law.

If there are good doctrine, there are bad ones too. Don't ever allow anyone to practice wrong Doctrine in your house. Reject any doctrine that is not scriptural. Stand for what is right. Embrace sound doctrine. Don't ever forget the charge of Apostle Paul In the following scriptures:

1 TIMOTHY 1:10

The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching

2 TIMOTHY 4:2-3

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.
3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear

2 John 9

Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son

THE USE OF VULGAR LANGUAGES
Your family belongs to God, so is your house. Don't allow vulgar and ungodly language in your house. Teach everyone how to say the right things and in the right way. Be a good example yourself. Don't forget what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33,

Be not deceived: evil communication corrupts good manners.

You must also remind yourself and everyone in your house that corrupt communication is an abomination in your house.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
