DIVINE VISITATION

in #steemchurch8 years ago (edited)

It is one thing for God to visit you and another for you to benefit from the visitation. Do you know that God may have visited you several times without you realising it? How many times have you lost out of divine opportunities and you did not know you have lost out?

In Genesis 18:1-15, The bible says

The Lord appeared again to Abraham near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. One day Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest part of the day. 2 He looked up and noticed three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he ran to meet them and welcomed them, bowing low to the ground.
3 “My lord,” he said, “if it pleases you, stop here for a while. 4 Rest in the shade of this tree while water is brought to wash your feet. 5 And since you’ve honored your servant with this visit, let me prepare some food to refresh you before you continue on your journey.”
“All right,” they said. “Do as you have said.”
6 So Abraham ran back to the tent and said to Sarah, “Hurry! Get three large measures of your best flour, knead it into dough, and bake some bread.” 7 Then Abraham ran out to the herd and chose a tender calf and gave it to his servant, who quickly prepared it. 8 When the food was ready, Abraham took some yogurt and milk and the roasted meat, and he served it to the men. As they ate, Abraham waited on them in the shade of the trees.
9 “Where is Sarah, your wife?” the visitors asked.
“She’s inside the tent,” Abraham replied.
10 Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!”
Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent. 11 Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. 12 So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?”
13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
15 Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, “I didn’t laugh.”
But the Lord said, “No, you did laugh.”

The story of Abraham started in Genesis 12:1-3 when God called him and said "...Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land i will show you..." the Lord made several promises to him to bless him. Abraham complied but unfortunately, he took lot with him and this affected his blessings for a while. Later, he had to separate from Lot and he began to witness increase and the blessings of God. By Genesis 15, Abraham was 85 years old, ten years after he left Haran. Here, he was still childless though he was rich. God spoke to him that He was not just going to give him a son but also will make him a father of many nations. In Genesis 15:16 the bible says "Abraham believed God, and He credited it to him as righteousness"

After reading this message, your prayer should be...... O Lord, do not pass me by, i shall not stop doing good to others, i refuse to doubt God's promises for my life in the mighty name of Jesus.

It is my prayer that when God visits us, we will be spiritually sensitive to recognize God's visitation. Thanks for sharing @charleswealth

A very big amen to that.... God bless you

God visited Abraham but there's no reason to believe that God ever visits us personally. God made Abraham the father of many nations. He's one of the most pivotal people in history.

You don't have to worry about missing out on opportunities because you didn't know God was visiting you. You can pray to God whenever you want. God already knows your thoughts, your desires, and your needs.

We are also important to God, we are his favorite children, we can also be visited by Him.

I totally share the last paragraph of your comment.

For this reason, we must be doing good every day, in every person that asks for help there is God, do not deny a solidary hand ever.

Well said @nayine... thanks for reading
