God's Justice

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Greetings beloved parishioners of Steemchurch, friends imagine the following situation: your family was tortured and killed, the murderer was arrested. When going to trial, the judge releases it without any punishment to the bandit because that judge is very kind and merciful. What would be said about that judge? That he is crazy, that he is unfair! The killer deserves to be punished because he is bad. The judge was kind and loving, but it was unfair. In the same way, how can God be just and at the same time justify the ungodly? Justify means that it is fair.

God forgives our sin and makes us righteous. When He forgives us, everyone understands that He is Love. But if He is Love because He forgives, then He is not righteous, because all sin deserves punishment (Rm 6:23; Ez.18: 4-32).

God forgives all sins, but does not innocent the guilty. How does God innoce and punish at the same time? "God hates him who does evil" (Psalm 5: 5). Why? Because He is good and just. If we see in the news that a child was kidnapped, raped and then killed, we feel no revolt against that? Do not we condemn such evil? We want justice!

As God is Love, He works in those who are the target of His wrath. Because of his love, he holds his just anger to give the sinner time to repent and receive His forgiveness. But where is your justice in that case? God chose to pour out all his wrath on Jesus instead of pouring on us. He killed Jesus instead of killing us. Jesus justified us, made us righteous when we repent of our sins.

Shortly before he was arrested, Jesus was very distressed to the point of sweating blood, but not out of fear of the suffering that men were going to cause him, but because the righteous wrath of God would fall upon Him. Anger for the sins of all mankind .

Jesus did not pay for the devil to liberate us. Jesus paid God. The sacrifice of Jesus satisfied the demand of the justice of God. And that is why we are forgiven and we can know God's love for us. God treated Jesus as guilty in our place and separated from Him when He was on the cross, and there Jesus cried out: "My God, why did you forsake me?" (Mk 15: 34). Jesus had to stay separated from the Father for our sake, to reconcile us to Him by dying. In Jesus, the justice of God was made and, thus, He can show us His love.

God showed His justice by bringing death, but He showed His love in the fact that it was not we who died, but Jesus. Then, we can not devalue or belittle the love and justice of God. We must fear and repent to be forgiven. God takes away our guilt when we repent, but it does not take away the consequences of the sin we commit. We suffer the evil we do. It is the way to be corrected by God.

The blessings of the Lord depend only on you and your relationship with God, for the justice of the Father is infallible.
