Be Patient

Today is a special day beloved of the Church Steem, because the Lord gives us once again new mercy which we should take advantage of being grateful and praising his holy name.

Leaving them again, he went to pray for the third time, repeating the same words. Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "You still sleep and lie down! "Behold, the hour has come, and the son of man is being delivered" (Mt 26.44-45).

God's response to his son Jesus finally came after a long night of prayers, asking that, if possible, he would free him from the sufferings of the cross and have our sins on him. The perseverance of Jesus in prayer teaches us that we must do so in our requests not yet answered by the Father, because:

1. God's time is not our time -

We are by nature hurried and anxious. We do not like to wait. This can lead us to obtain something that we did not yet need in priority or were not yet ready to have it, or even wanting what God does not want for us. The Lord will respond to us in his time, as he did to Jesus, through our perseverance in prayer.

1. Persistent prayer demonstrates our faith -

By insisting on something it is because we believe in it. God contemplates it in our prayers. Our perseverance in praying for something unattended is seen by the Lord as proof of our faith, in his power and justice. "And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive" (Mt 21.22).

1. Pursuing prayer reveals an authentic communion with the Father -

Prayer is a complete dialogue with God. We speak with Him and patiently and confidently await your response. In the constancy of prayer it is stamped: our humility and limitations, our dependence on the Father, our recognition that His will is the best for us. In it we obtain peace, consolation, guidance, healing, forgiveness and salvation. Prayer is not praise or litany, vain repetitions, lengalenga through the mediation of saints, but a dynamic and direct dialogue with God in the name of Jesus. "... Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of my Father, in my name, he will give you" (Jn 16.23).

Pray, never give up asking the Father what you think is a need of you. There is time for God's answers, believe it.
