I was perusing through my Bible tonight and my eyes caught this verse, though it has been shared before by a man of God I know but the insightbeamed into my mind that night strengthens and enlighten me the more, I see it as a great deal learning from someone's experience, his rise and fall, mistakes and caution.
The story started by telling us how David City was burnt with his wives and children all take into captive and that of his men too and everyone was distressed, I mean how could you just come back from a war and meeting your whole household raided.

3When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. 4 So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep.

But David found strength in the Lord his God.

In everything circumstances we should always be unmoved cause since God is still on the throne, every little thing is gonna be alright.

8 and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”

It is very expedient to inquire from God before taking action than asking for God's help after we have made our way and fail, God way doesn't fail, that's why Jesus Christ said am the way the truth and the life, No one comes to the father except through me.

10 Two hundred of them were too exhausted to cross the valley, but David and the other four hundred continued the pursuit.

It's actually not everyone who is going to help you out in the days of trouble, when seeking for help from someone some people prefer saying that they too have there problems, never mind with God on my side.

11 They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat.

That someone is an enemy is an excuse not to help them.

18 David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. 19 Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back.

This is the crucial point in the whole story, assuming. David hasn't fed the Egyptian he would have been looking for where the Amalekites were thereby wasting his time, and possibly not even find them or get caught in the process, you never can tell what one single act of kindness is going to do to you.

22 But all the evil men and troublemakers among David’s followers said, “Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered......23 David replied, “No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the Lord has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiding party that came against us.

David was confronted by his men to use the popular Pareto Principle, but nay he didn't and he hereby instituted something they called Salary.

24 Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.” 25 David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.26 When David reached Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends, saying, “Here is a gift for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”

With whatsoever victory God has given to you, always be generous with it.
I hope you've learnt someone or two lesson today.
Have a nice day.

Good post

That someone is an enemy is an excuse not to help them.
I spotted that. We need to help everyone. Christ himself came to help the sinners which were even his enemies.

Am glad you gained something from it sir, God bless you the more.

That your Pareto Principle is funny, lol 😂 😂 😂, truly he instituted Salary, and ygebfact that He shared everything equaly and even sent to other tribes amazes me and made me have a rethink of somethings I've done.
God bless you the more sir.

Yes, lol he could have use the 80-20 thing now and that will make the people who didn't go jealous and cause trouble for himself and his men, thanks to the Spirit Of God.
It's very important to have God's Spirit in us and allow him to direct us in all things .

Dante is here, No Fear

Thanks for sharing
We need to extend our hands to others and affect their lives positively with the substance God blesses us with

Thanks for sharing..I like the part that you said David found strength in the lord..

The risen of David is a story of man gracefully selected by God, God loves him unconditionally.
