Unity in the household of faith
In john 17:11, 21-23, our lord Jesus prayed to the father that those who believe in him should be united, that they may be one even as he and the father are one.

Unfortunately, the fragmented nature of the church today makes physical unity among believers a difficult goal to realize.
The denominational spirit, as well as the influence of some spiritually immature but charismatic church leaders, keep driving the wedge that separates ministries and believers.
The early apostles overcame the above weakness by appreciating Christ's Spirit living in each one of them and binding them together (Ephesians 4:4-6). An evidence of spiritual maturity, therefore, is in the extent to which a disciple appreciates Christ in others, and does not discriminate against them on the basis of race, skin, color, tribe, education, wealth, and so on.
