For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright
and godly lives in this present age,
For the grace of God that bringeth
salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously,
and godly, in this present world;
For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God
that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires,
and to live sensible, upright,
and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age,
