STOP Doing This!
I have often wondered why people do a lot of comparisons? They never want to focus on what is happening in their lives rather they spy on other people's life & achievements and would go extra miles to live the life of others. I am just wondering why someone would want to cause an unnecessary headache for themselves. I think people need to understand how this world works if you kinda find it difficult to do this then it becomes a problem.
Listen to this; you do not need to spy on other people's life at any point in life. All you need to do is to stay on your lane. The world is a free lane where anybody can overtake anybody, people have a different destiny, people grow differently, people earn differently, and have different priority. What I want at the moment might be different from what another wants. And, how I behave and react to life issues might be different from yours. So, when you keep making a comparison, you only hurt yourself.
The truth is some are early starters while others start very slow. We must not be at the same level in life, after all, our fingers are not equal! Any comparison does more harm than good, it makes you become very bitter cause you'll rather focus on someone than yourself. It steals your joy, happiness, and peace away! Most times, a comparison is the offspring of hate, jealousy, and envy. You will find out that all of a sudden, you No longer feel comfortable around the individual you are always comparing yourself with. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. There are journeys you have to go through to obtain certain heights in life, you should focus on how to pass through such a journey and not spying on others who have passed through theirs.
Honestly, if you truly want to compare anything in life then you can compare your past to your present. Take a critical look of your success and failures, and find out the things you are doing wrong, and improve on them. You can only be in a competition with yourself not any man. Set a target for yourself and work on it. You do not have any business with what Mr. A has achieved so far. Yes, you can look up to certain individuals in life, it is OK to aspire to become like Mr. B but it is wrong when you begin to compare. Mentors are there for a reason, they direct and guide you through the right channel, but it is never a competition.
And here is another thing; stop comparing your loved ones because it does not make any sense.
"Oh! Why can't my husband behave like Jane's husband?"
"Oh! Can't you see your mates are making it big?"
Stop saying such things to your husband, wife, kids, and sibling. When you compare your loved ones to your supposedly ideal "human" it brings out the worse in them. People behave and reason differently. And if you want any change in them, you can start by showing love to them. Remember, everybody cannot be like everyone. We are all created to be unique in different ways. Embrace and appreciate that uniqueness!

Comparing is a good thing if done correctly. We can generally and do generally compare incorrectly. So, we are then encouraged not to compare. But we should compare. But you are right that we are unique at the same time.
