STEEMCHURCH - Why WORRY Anyway?

In January 2017, my job was shaky. The company was going through hard times and the staff were laid off on a daily basis. Every single day, staff with rare skills were been sacked by the management, and within a year, the company sacked about 50 staff. It was indeed a difficult time! There was tension everywhere, people were so afraid of their stand in the company because nobody knew who will be next. I was worried, sad, and almost depressed. At a point, it became very difficult to sleep at nights. I was always moody with a lot of thoughts going on in my head. Getting another job at that period was something else hence it got to me. I wasn't sure of the next day, I constantly checked my e-mail for a sack letter from the human resources' manager, but at the same time, I kept talking to God about it, It became a prayer point every morning. This went on for a long time until I decided to hand over my worries to God. I asked Him to help me overcome my fears, sadness, and depression. I chilled and looked up to Jesus because my high blood pressure increased drastically. Today, I am still with the organization, eight years, and still counting.

As believers, one of the tools the devil used against the children of God is to make us worry all the time. It steals your joy and happiness, and sometimes lead to depression if care is not taken. People worry about a lot of reason and truth be told, some of those reasons are justified especially with all the happenings in the world. Oftentimes, we worry about our kids who are heady and wouldn't heed to instructions, we worry about our jobs, about our marriages even the economy can bring worry. We worry about things we can control and things we cannot control, and if you ask me, I think it is natural to worry about certain things, but it is also very important to believe God about those things we worry about. We need to believe God is able to protect us because He loves us, and has our interest at heart.

Whenever you're tempted to worry, ask yourself will my worry change that situation? You will discover that worry does not actually change anything rather it makes it worse. The devil knows this, let's also not forget his purpose on earth. He is here to kill, steal, and destroy. And one of the ways he steals from us is by making us worry about almost everything. He is interested in the outcome of the worry, he wants to steal your joy and happiness. This is why we must not let him have his way by trying not to worry since God's word cannot be broken, we must continue to believe that by the time your trails and testimonies are put together, your life will be a step forward and better.

The Bible says when we walk through the valley of death, we should not be afraid for He is with us. Worry and anxiety concerning any matter can end up taking your life! In times of stress, trials, force yourself to be happy and cheerful. The truth is that worry does not prevent anything from happening rather it prevents your joy and kills you slowly. No matter what you are going through at the moment, always remember that worry will do you no good, and will never change the outcome of that situation.

One of the ways we can get rid of worry is by taking away every aspect of negativity in our lives and replace our thoughts with positivity. I think it will make more sense to dwell more on the things that can go right rather than the things that can go wrong. We serve a living God who has asked us to caste all of our fears and worries unto Him so why worry then? The word of God is speaking to someone today, cheer up! Put away your worry and embrace the joy that comes from the word of God. There is nothing too hard, impossible for God to do. He will surely take care of those worries if we let Him besides, we can only see the moment but God sees the future. So, why not be happy and let God fix that situation? I pray that God will fill our hearts with joy, peace, and happiness, Amen!
