STEEMCHURCH - Knowing & Loving HIM
They say knowledge is power. I have known God all my life, and I've no regrets. As a matter of fact, I count myself privileged to have known this great God which is the greatest thing in life. I have devoted all my life in serving Him and I can categorically tell you, it is worth it.
In fact, God has proven Himself in so many ways to me. He has proven to be real and a promise keeper. Knowing God is sweet as long as you don't compromise your standards. I am not saying that knowing God is rosy. Just like what people will always say nothing good comes easy. The devil knows what we stand to gain in knowing Him and that is why he would fill our heart with words to discourage us from having a personal relationship with Him.
Now, knowing God is not all about what He can do or what we stand to gain physically. Knowing Him is all about our personal walk with Him, how high we've placed Him in our hearts, how much we love and are willing to obey His commandments. The bible says if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. Knowing God is not all about serving Him at your convenience or whenever we are in need. It goes beyond all these.
For most Christians, God is good whenever things are going well for them. When they are ahead of their peers, have a good apartment, drive good cars, have a good job, and anything good life can offer. I am not saying, having all these things are bad, but the question is are you in love with Him because of the material things He gives? It is good to enjoy life and have everything that makes life comfortable, but what if those things are taken away from you? Will you still love Him? Will you still give Him your energy and time? Job loved God and proved it when the devil came to test his love for God. Everything was taken away from him yet Job remained steadfast.
For most Christians, it is all about us, what we can get from Him, my needs, complaints and so on. God sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for the sins he knows nothing about. He was humiliated, bruised, and suffered just for you & I to have a second chance. The question is all these he did for us, what have we done for Him?
Being in love with Him is all about counting your many blessings that money cannot buy. Loving and knowing Him is all about doing what pleases Him because you don't want to get Him angry. Loving God is all about serving Him because He is God and not what He can do for you.
I will always say this, God is ever ready to keep His own part of the agreement, but the thing is, are we ready to keep our part of the agreement? There are several benefits of knowing Him that goes beyond physical things;
- Knowing Him is equal to having eternal life
- Knowledge enables access to opportunities in life. Knowing Him opens us to supernatural knowledge.
- Knowing Him guarantees freedom because the truth shall always set us free
- Knowing Him grants us access to Him. It means we can call upon Him 24/7
- Knowing Him makes us unique and extraordinary.
- Knowing Him brings an inner peace that passes human understanding.
- Salvation is free through Christ Jesus
God has bestowed upon us so many blessings that money cannot buy, but just in case you want to know Him better. Here are some of the ways of knowing Him;
- By studying His word
- By waiting upon Him to lead and direct us
- By being not only the hearers but also the doers of His word
- By dwelling in His word
- By having a one on one personal relationship with Him.
In conclusion,
Is God occupying the first place in your life? Are you interested in what you stand to gain physically? Our God is bigger than any of those things. Let's look at the bigger picture of knowing & loving Him for He truly cares for us.

Thank you for stopping by. More grace in Jesus name @sc-n
The truth is that, serving God is a very great gain in itself. The joy, peace, protection, satisfaction, love, etc that accompanies serving God can't be compared to anything else. God will never leave his children to be stranded in life. He has promised us everything that we need to be comfortable in life if only we will sincerely serve, not doing trade by barter with our services to him for what he has to offer us. This is a very interesting piece. Thanks for sharing @ammyluv
Of course! I wish most believers will begin to see God's blessings beyond material things.
Loving God entails giving Hi everything of ours, time, strength, heart, mind soul, ... Whenever we come to this resolve, obeying Him becomes a normal life. Thanks @ammyluv or sharing this.
Well said! Once our love for Him is real and genuine, obeying Him becomes a normal life.
Thank you for visiting @uyobong
God ought to be the numberone in every of our lives. Little wonder He said we should seek His kingdom first.
We need to start saying things like "do it your way Lord". Let Him lead our lives.
Exactly! Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else shall be added on to you.
