In David's example, when God commanded Samuel to go to Bethlehem to anoint David the new king (until then Samuel did not know it was David, only one of Jesse's sons.) David was not in his house, and he was not called to find Samuel, because in the eyes of his family his courage was so small that he was only the youngest son who takes care of the sheep. However, it was to David that God had chosen to be king. Because it was not with David's appearance or with the way he was seen by his family that God cared. He also saw! He was even chosen to do great things, and then he called the "man according to the heart of God.

See also Paul's story. Before with the name of Saul, he persecuted the Christians and many times killed them. Until the day Jesus spoke with him (while he was on his way to Damascus to arrest all those who followed Christ!) Jesus instructed him to enter the city, while God spoke with Ananias to go to meet Saul with the purpose of praying for him, and still said that Saul was an instrument chosen by Him to preach the word to all. At this (now with the name of Paul) he went on to preach and announce the good news, becoming an apostle!
Now you see? God loves you! You are reading this now. Regardless of how you are, God has a new story written by Himself for you. It does not matter if you are the most popular person or the most timid and insecure person. God accepts you as you are. Read again in the verse at the beginning of the article.

It is beautiful to read the Bible and see the power of God in the lives of people who were often belittled, who had no more hope, people that nobody believed could change. And as beautiful as that is to know that God CONTINUES to do the same thing until today, transforming ordinary people, with totally changed lives. Common people, in new creatures, ordinary people with an extraordinary destiny in the will of God.
