Psalm 10.
10 Why are you far away, O Jehovah, and hide in the time of tribulation?
2 With arrogance the wicked pursues the poor;
He will be trapped in the devices he has devised.
3 For evil boasts of the desire of its soul,
Bless the greedy, and despise Jehovah.
4 The wicked, by the phrase of his face, does not seek God;
There is no God in any of his thoughts.
5 His ways are crooked at all times;
Your judgments are far from their sight;
He despises all his adversaries.
6 He says in his heart: I will never be moved;
Misfortune will never reach me.
7 Full is in his mouth of curse, and of deceit and fraud;
There is vexation and evil in his tongue.
8 He sits on the prowl near the villages;
In hiding places kill the innocent.
His eyes are stalking the helpless;
9 Stalks in hiding, like the lion from his cave;
Stalks to snatch the poor;
Snatch the poor by bringing him to his red.
10 It shrinks, it ducks,
And many unfortunates fall into their strong claws.
11 Dice in his heart: God has forgotten;
He has covered his face; you'll never see
12 Rise up, O Jehovah God, raise your hand;
Do not forget the poor.
13 Why does the wicked despise God?
In his heart he said: You will not inquire.
14 You have seen it; because you look at work and vexation, to give the reward with your hand;
The helpless are welcome to you;
You are the helper of the fatherless.
15 You break the arm of the beginning,
And pursue the evil of evil until you find none.
16 Jehovah is King forever and ever;
The nations have perished from their land.
17 The desire of the humble you heard, O Jehovah;
You dispose your heart, and you make your ear attentive,
18 To judge the orphan and the oppressed.
