STEEMCHURCH : PRAYER

in #steemchurch5 years ago

The ear of God is always attentive to our prayers, but He also wants us to be attentive, awake: to hear and follow his advice.

The Lord gave me a learned language, so that I can say, in due time, a good word to the one who is tired. He wakes me up every morning, wakes up the ear, so he can hear like those who learn.
He opened my ears, and I was not rebellious: I do not retreat backwards. Isaiah 50: 4-5.

When Jesus finished his prayer, he opened his ears to listen attentively to the Father. Our prayer can not be a monologue.

From his first prayer there in the Jordan, God remembered his Son, how much he loved him: You are my beloved Son: in you I have been pleased.

The accuser (Satan) will certainly come (as he did Jesus in the desert), to contradict us

This through the tests, the failures, our diseases and imperfections. But let's let God do his justice. He will remind us that in his love there are no changes or shadow of variation. Paul reminded the Romans that God was a God of mercy:

"The same Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God". Romans 8:16.

It is very rewarding, in the recollection and moments of prayer to Him.

If we do everything in our power to listen to this sublime voice, we will be enriched, consoled, fortified: ready to serve Him with all our heart.

One of the last counsels of Jesus to his disciples.

In the last prayer of Jesus, with his disciples in the Garden of Eden, they let themselves be surprised by the dream. Then Jesus gave them a very practical advice. This advice was about prayer, which concerns us too:

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation: the spirit is indeed ready, but the flesh is weak." Mark 14:38.

How to explain the cowardice of the disciples, and the denial of the Apostle Peter at the time of Jesus' arrest?

There is only one possible explanation: Numbness and lack of prayer. Therefore, Jesus had warned them.

Today, many Christians succumb to temptation. They seek to hide the sin that came back to beat them at the door. They had already mastered it but recklessly allowed themselves to fall asleep. They were jealous, faithful some times, but they returned to the place of back.

Did they leave the path of salvation why? The answer is obvious and we must not go too far: Jesus gave them the answer.

Her spirit was sincere and well-disposed, but the flesh remained weak, and when she takes over, the fall is inevitable.

The only means, Jesus affirms us: "Watch and pray, so that you do not enter into temptation".

Prayer transmits the inner strength to resist the devil and do the will of God. Prayer is our only guarantee and defense against the deception and temptations of the evil one.

Nothing, however valuable it may be, can substitute a life of prayer.

Jesus, a man of the same nature as ours, showed a formidable courage:

Courage and strength to manage to face the judgment of men, that of the rest only He has the authority to do. What was his secret:

They asked: teach us to pray. Jesus answered them through his example.
