To be effectual means to produce the desired results. Your victory in life depends on the knowledge you have of who you are and what you possess in Christ Jesus. Not knowing who you are in Christ will limit your effective performance as a Believer.

The moment you gave your life to our Lord Jesus Christ, your position, statues everything about you changed. And you grow as a Christian by taking time to study and understand the blessings deposited in you by Jesus Christ and alignling yourself to ensure you live in the understanding of who you are as a new creature.

A child who is an heir can not perform the responsibility of a son because, he is not mature. It takes knowledge and application of who you are to mature into a son.

First, we need to discover who we are on Christ or else we will be ruled by circumstances of the world.

Every heir apparent to the throne that is not aware of who he and his rights and privileges, will be controlled by the servants in his own father's house. His servants who are supposed to serve him will become his master and dictator.

When a child grows into maturity and becomes a man, he takes charge of his father's house.
By growth, I mean in terms of knowledge. The more he knows about his rights as an heir, the more he properly exercises and enforces them.
