STEEMCASTS: my steemit blog post process pipeline

in #steemcasts7 years ago

if not stated some of my photos are from unsplash a free site for images, also you can grab some cool images from nomad.pictures a site i run with @dayleeo to get pictures out of the camera roll and onto the web

so recently some one asked me about the steemit editor, or at least how to format things so i thought i would share with you a little behind the scenes process of the way i put things together and how i have taken the stress out of the actual blogging process — once you have a pipeline process of being able to put things together it becomes less about the arrangement and more about building out the content, you can add to the automated parts naturally when you feel inspired to make a new footer or cinemagraph easily and adding them into your post literally takes minutes to do.

in this little steemcast i go over. ..

  • what is markdown language
  • who came up with it as far as i know
  • making tables in steemit using markdown
  • application i use on my mac, ipad to write with in markdown
  • optimising the speed by using macros with text expander
  • using cloud app to store images and fast clipboard links
  • getting free images and sharing the disclaimer
  • copy and pasting across into the steemit editor before postings

i realise this might be a bit fast and crude and i won’t cover all the elements of what you might want to know and their are some special markdown or formatting rules that steemit has but if you search here on steemit you will find many a good blog post that already has that stuff for you. no point in my re-inventing the wheel when perfectly good information exists — this however is my process and right now it works really well for me.

feel free to ask questions in the comments below, if you wish i can go into a particular area if you feel i never went in depth about it. i love making videos and tutorials and screencasts and if i know the answer i’m happy to share my knowledge with you — an upvote, resteem or comment would be lovely as well! :)
