Many months ago, Dribblespit witnessed the Fire Demon use a Fire Gem to consume the life essence of a lesser being. Shortly after, Dribblespit uncovered a small Fire Gem. A pebble really, and hiding it in the hollow of a rotten tooth, he snuck the gem out of the mine. Later, while the other kobolds slumbered around him, Dribblespit used the Fire Gem to absorb the life essence of a particularly nasty kobold who had always delighted in tormenting him. The surge of power he felt when the ritual was complete was intoxicating. When one of the overseers whipped him the next day, Dribblespit caught him later in the latreen and crushed the overseer's head between his hands as easily as he would a dove's egg.

Stronger and smarter than the other Kobolds, he now does the work of several miners in a single shift. Twice more he has found and used a small Fire Gem. And while he grows in power each time, he can tell the increase is smaller as each life essence added to his. Before he only dreamed of escaping the mines, but now he longs to return each shift to continue his search for more Fire Gems.
