Best 'PET TRIBUTE' Contest -' WINNERS' Announcement
First I would like to thank all the pet owners/lovers who participated in some way to this writing contest.
We've selected the winners for 'top' three spots who are each receiving one SBD.
@ninjamike won with this entry about 'Gem' his beloved feline family member.
@gwilberiol touched us with his story about 'Minou' his beautiful Albino kitty who was deaf; but adapted well in spite of it. You can read his heartwarming post in the 'comment' section of the original contest post.
We decided on @nathan-rokus as the third SBD recipient who wrote a kind of fictional account, inspired by our prompt and the memory of his pet dog as a child...
It's based on my German shepherd we had to put down when I was a kid. The stuff in the story is total fiction however.
@nayibe and @cheekah will each be receiving .500 SBD transferred to their wallets, for entries which met the time deadline; before the one day extension was added.

Thanks for running this contest @averageoutsider. I enjoyed writing my piece even though it was emotional at times and I enjoyed reading other peoples stories as well. In general, I love real life personal stories. I look forward to the next contest.
It was my pleasure and a lot of fun running the contest. I bet it was emotional to write...it was emotional to read, especially since I almost feel as if I knew Gem too. Looks so much like my visiting friend Mr. Blacky.
Oh by the way...I might send SBD to the winners wallets instead of SBI. The conversion rate right now is too big of a loss, and SBI has not been voting up at the same rate :(

Well done winners, richly deserved.
Many sad stories this week but on the whole they told of the real love and joy that comes with having a special friend and family-member too. Only after such wonderful memories can come such a profound sense of loss.
You laid yourself bare and exposed your grief but some wonderful writing came from those experiences.
