It's been couple of days since I posted new works on my account. But I couldn't wait for the B&W Challenge to end. That is why I'm going to share with you another experiment done on a whim. The sketch represents another one of my characters from The Inexplicit Project. She's supposed to be an ordinary human but after some experiments done to her body, can transform into something extraordinary. I'm not into making creatures but decided to experiment with some brushes on Photoshop. And was surprised - sometimes unforeseen things lead to unexpectedly good results. ^.^

I was inspired by the gorgeous model Anastasia Shcheglova.

Back to the sketch.
I made basic line art of the body but still wasn't sure what to do with it or how to express her transformation. The original idea was to show dragon features on the body but at the end I wanted her to just look non-human. The sole purpose of the sketch was to get me out of my comfort zone.
And it did.

After the initial sketch I added some basic shading on the face and chest. Also came across with some interesting brushes one of which used to imitate outer vertebrae on the spine (it was actually a Bamboo brush but who can tell :D) The Bamboo brush set is by Hawksmont.
For the background I used Abstract brush #58 from FW.

I liked the abstract brush so much that I used it to make other strange features on the body and head. Every detail was on separate layer so that other adjustments can be made later (like removing or adding additional shading). Still something about the head wasn't quite right, somehow it looked smaller that the body.

Finally came up with this result. It was nice to see the game between dark and light parts around the head.
The good thing about abstract forms is that every person will interpret it in his own unique way.
