Starting A New Caribbean Themed Painting..
I Awoke To ..
A rainy and dreary day. To try and get myself out of this funk and relive some great vacation memories, I decided to start a new Caribbean themed oil painting. I will most likely call it 'Caribbean Dream'. This sort of sounds like a cruise ship name, so I am not locked into it.
The Beginning Stages ..
I started this bad boy by applying Titanium White with the good old hand
I decided to add a bit (a lot of a bit) of Pathalo Blue. It's looking dark and not so hot..It will get better..I promise
I layered in some more white here. All done with my fingers
This is where I am right now. I continued to layer in white over the blue tones. I started adding a little Viridian Hue into the clouds as I am shaping them. I am going to start to define the horizon line next. This will help me get a better idea of how shaded I want the clouds to be.
I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out. I will post again soon as it evolves.
Thanks for checking it out!
:-)

Looking wonderful so far, @bdmillergallery ! Love the formation of the sky and far away cloud ! <3 Looking forward to seeing this finished :D
I had a moment and made some changes to that cloud. It wasn’t what I wanted and I was hung up on it..so.. I messed with it. Yikes! Looks better to me now. More along the lines of my original vision.
Thanks for checking it out and for the compliments. I appreciate your thoughts and insight. :-)
Nothing like art therapy, in my experience. And how wonderful, as a painter, that you can time travel and change the weather :) Cool to see those clouds materialize like that!
Haha. Yes..I do a lot of time traveling. Creating paintings is very therapeutic. Wether they turn out good or bad, it’s an outlet and very calming at that. Thanks for the compliments and taking time to check it out! Hopefully I can pull my vision together.
I write myself sane(ish) -- so I know what that's about :D Looking forward to popping in, from time to time, to check out your art. And, your dog is crazy cute!
Yea. Her and her brother are too cute for their own good. Spoiled they are!
Right now they are waiting for some free hand outs of whatever’s left when I’m done this sandwich…
Oh, they are darling... Gremlins :p
