RE: The New Challenge I'm Starting: Steem And Me - 5 Questions Answered

Thank you so much for not tagging me, lol. I appreciate your remembering.

Stepping forward in imperfection is better than just staying where you are.

I love this one right here. It goes hand in hand that mistakes are excusable because they can only occur if you're doing something. So many allow excuses to stop them from acting.

I am a bit torn on the part of those who leave or aren't doing well here. Certainly some of that is the nature of the platform. But much of it is also in how people conduct themselves here. Do they take ownership for being here and seek out like minded people and interact with them regularly so their presence is known. Being discovered here without doing this is like being the needle in the haystack.

Taskmaster has been pushing for people to post 4 times or more a day. I personally think this is part of the problem, not the solution. I am unsure who he thinks has enough voting power to give to low effort posts. There is only one poster on Steemit who get several of my votes per day, and he earns every single one of them. I can't imagine how he finds the time to do all the research he does and then put it all together in the quality posts he does. But I would be hard pressed to do that for a second account even if I wanted to. And between my own stake and delegation I rent I am close to 1000 SP. And still run out of votes quick, especially with Steem being down so much. Seems to me increased posting by many would be a shit show that would cost them several followers, much the same as those who write one post for every dozen posts they resteem. Better to focus on less posts that are high quality in my opinion, and not overload your followers with crap.

I love this platform, love watching a true gift economy in action. One that invites participation. It is something that can train us to embrace this more in our normal real world dealings with others as well.

Done rambling now, thanks for sharing. That's awesome you had a post do so well. I thought that was the stuff of legends here, lol. Hope all is well otherwise and have had a nice weekend with the kids home.

It makes sense that in order to be known one needs to be a salesperson, but here, showcasing oneself too obviously will turn people off. So a lot of the time imo it's about winning a popularity contest, or being part of the "in crowd." Everyone has different gifts. Some of us are introverts, especially writers, poets, and artists. We don't network well. Quality content and tremendous talent are not what determines success even though that's what we are told. No solutions to the problem, just my two cents.

4 times a day is crazy, and yeah how would we manage that? I also disagree with such a high number.

I think I know who you are talking about. Is it krnel? Insane what he can get done!

Hopefully things get back on track here so legend doesn't turn into myth!

Thanks for your comment, rambles and all! :)
