Steemalliance: Vote results reviewsteemCreated with Sketch.

For those eagerly waiting to see who won the foundation proposal organised by the @steemalliance, you will need to wait a little longer for the results to get a full audit.

I thought I would take a high level view at some of the numbers. When @ned and @steemit asked for community input, the final result was this vote. So let's look at community involvement.

Voter Turnout

There were 487 votes cast, however each user was allowed to Vote for multiple options, so the actual number of unique voters is likely to be lower.

There are almost 50,000 active users of steem over the last 30 days, with the monthly figure in the last full month being 83,578

Again, to be generous, we will take the lower number

487 / 50,000 = 0.97% Turnout of steemians

But it's stake that counts

So let's assume those lower SP holders are not so important. We are always reminded this is a stake based blockchain.

12 Million worth of SP holders voted.

That's from a total of 197.7M SP that's currently staked.

12 / 197.7 = 6% Turnout of SP holders

End.

You probably need to subtract out STINC stake.

Stinc stake is held over lots of accounts. Does anyone have a definite figure for their stake?

As people were allowed to vote for more than one choice is there a way to see how many individual voters took part?

You'll have to go through the raw data and create a list of unique voters. Not near a laptop at the moment

The question of course is was the turn out low because of indifference or simply because there was not sufficient advertisement of the poll?

You could test this theory by creating a new poll and see how many people vote on it. For example

  1. Everyone who votes on this gets 100 Steem

  2. Everyone who votes on this gets 50 Steem

  3. Everyone who votes on this gets a slap with a Trout

This is an example only, just in case anyone thinks they can get something from it. I bet something like this would magically propagate around the Blockchain and every man and his dog would be voting option 1.

Whatever the cause, less than one percent turnout of active steemians and 6% of steem holders isn't really a community mandate. But it looks like they are pressing on. If this was to be a project to satisfy stinc, then that's fine, but trying to cover it with a veneer of community approval when there is so little involvement from the community is misleading.

I ignored this post that you tagged me in twitter, as it answers nothing and you didn’t even look up any data. You can keep insulting me all you want, or you can just do something 🤷🏻‍♀️

You cant even take the time to look into anything you are concerned about, or get actual facts. So why should I?

You are a troll who does nothing but complain about what others are doing, for free, to try to help improve this place. I’m starting to understand why you were flagged and regretting my attempt in asking some larger accounts to bring you out of negative rep.

There are two sorts of people here, doers and those that bitch and do nothing.. thanks for making it clear which side you are on.

If you don’t like foundation or the election or anything else here, there is a simple solution - Make your own. That will take some actual work though, and it’s clear that is way below you.

You could also just ignore it as it changes nothing for you.. or just keep bashing those actually trying to do stuff to improve the place.. if that’s how you add value. I think I know what you’ll pick.

Good luck to you
