Sometimes, the smallest creatures on earth can leave the biggest footprints in our hearts.When I was younger we had a very beautiful gray and white cat named Mira. She was actually a shy type so she stayed hidden during the day and walk around during the night. Mira loved being around people especially the familiar ones. Every morning, she would sit patiently at our doorstep waiting for someone to open the door.

Although she was small, mira was very brave sometimes. She kept our house free from rats, protected our food and making our home more comfortable for us to leave in. My mother often joked that mira worked harder than a security guard because she never missed a night patrol.

One rainy evening, the electricity went out in leaving the entire neighborhood was in darkness . While everyone searched for candles, lanterns and lambs Mira suddenly became very restless. She kept scratching at the kitchen door and meowing loudly. At first, we thought she was hungry but she refused to stop. My father had to opened the door to see what was wrong with her. To his surprise, he noticed smoke coming from a forgotten pot on the stove since it was dark. In the confusion caused by the power outage my mum had forgotten the pot of rice on fire, the food had burned and the smoke was beginning to fill the kitchen and the place almost cought fire.

Thanks to Mira's persistence, we quickly turned the gas off and opened the windows before the situation became dangerous. That night, everyone agreed that our little cat had saved us all from what could have become a serious accident which could have ended with first decree burn or so.

From then on Mira was treated like queen of the family. She received extra care, delicious meals, and endless affection from us all. Whenever I came home from school feeling tired or stressed, she would curl up beside me purring softly on my cheeks and somehow, her quiet company always made me feel better and I really miss her so much. Mira lived with us for so many years and even after she died her memories still remained precious in our hearts. She taught us all that love and courage does not depend by size or words but by actions.

And today, whenever I see a cat on the road or anywhere i always remember mira. She wasn't just a little cat but she was a faithful friend who reminds me that animals too can bring joy, comfort, and unexpected security into our lives.
