I feel excited when I see this amazing contest organized by @xcool24. Domestic animals are types of animals usually found in rural and urban centers. Most people rear these animals for consumption, while others sell them for profit.

The person who wants to invest in rearing livestock will need time for monitoring so that losses can be limited or minimized. Domestic animals need proper treatment, care, and attention because their well-being is very important to us as animal carers. These animals are very useful to us. I remember when I was rearing chickens, the moment we didn't have anything to eat with rice or swallow, I would just slaughter one of the chickens that was available. Many domestic animals face challenges that affect them in one way or another.

These challenges include the following:

1. Homeless
2. Food Shortage
3. Lack of Treatment
4. Stealing
5 Poor Facilities
6. Accident

• Homeless: There are many domestic animals roaming on the street without a special place to stay that will serve as a protected area during the raining season or sun. They suffer a lot because some dangerous animals like wild dogs can harm those animals at night such as goats, sheep, and hens. The owners must provide good shelter and other necessary things that will make their lives better.

• Food Shortage: These animals are not fed with quality food. In fact, some of them often sleep with empty stomachs. This will affect their growth because they are not satisfied with the little food they eat. As the owner, you should give them enough food to enhance their well-being.

• Lack of Treatment: Domestic animals are not given adequate treatment. Some of these animals die at an early stage due to sickness that affects some part of their organs. The reason is that some people cannot afford to pay for drugs or treatment, while some may not feel concerned about their health, hoping they will get better soon.

• Stealing: Another challenge is that they are not safe outside, which gives thieves a high chance to easily steal them. Thieves then sell them at the local market or slaughter and eat those animals in their various houses.

• Poor Facilities: Veterinary hospitals are available, but they are not well-equipped with modern equipment to treat domestic animals. The experts are not even enough, not to mention the lack of available drugs.

• Accident: Most of these animals die as a result of motor accidents, which normally occur to sheep. They will just cross the road without noticing that a vehicle is coming. People should wait for these animals to cross the road so that their lives can be protected.

Conclusion

Domestic animals are always friendly, particularly when we feed them with enough food and water; they will just follow you from one place to another. I would like to invite @radleking, @josepha and @okere-blessing to participate in this contest.
