The zombie will not go in without something to coax it in. There is other stuff it can see so will go after that first. The longer it takes to lure one in, the harder it will be to get out alive.
It won't go after the people it can see in the other house to the east? Well then as my second action I'll scream.
And shoot your gun to make a lot of noise.
Yes, it will go across the street, but that will add zombies to zone 2, making it more difficult to get out. That's why it's important to get a zombie in the house you are in and then get out before more zombies are created.
