My experience as a waiter
Hello friends how are you all doing today I hope all is well and you all are having a nice and wonderful day, today in my entry I will be sharing with you all about my experience as a waiter.
Like I'd made mentioned earlier in my previous article's, I shared with you all that I applied for a job as a post of a waiter in the K's Bistro hotel and luckily for me I was hired.
So now my experience as a waiter, trust me the post of a waiter isn't as easy as it sounds because there are many stress involved.
Though in my resume I lied to them about working as a waiter before meanwhile the truth is that I have never worked as a waiter in my life before, so actually this is my first time.
My Experience |
|---|
When I first started I thought that the job will be difficult to execute especially when those big and wealthy people come to place an order for food or drinks.
In my first day I was confused and scared when ever I see a customer sitting alone and waiting for a waiter to come so as to place an order, and since we are 6 in numbers both waiter and waitress still you must have to take a customers order because everyone will be busy.
So I tried my best and faced my fears and now I have learnt some of the little secrets involved in being able to effectively carry out my job as a waiter and they are;
- Manner of approach
- Knowing your available items
- Smiling
Manner Of Approach |
|---|
Yes indeed as a waiter or a waitress one of the most important thing first is manner of approach, because in a high standard bar like ours a lot of big men comes to eat and drink there and the way we approach matters a lot.
Knowing Your Available Items |
|---|
Secondly being aware of your available items in the menu is very important so that when a customer asked for an item you will know whether it's available or not and also the price as well so that you won't waste his or her time.
Smiling |
|---|
And lastly the most effective weapon to weaken your customers guard is through smiling, now this is the one thing that I have tried by myself and trust me it worked.
Imagine if your customers came in with a frowning face you can brighten up their day with a smile, I remember yesterday when I was attending to female customer she was harsh and strict but I kept smiling back at her and all of a sudden she started smiling back and even asked for my name and when she was about to go she told me when she's coming back again.
Conclusion |
|---|
So with that you can clearly see that there's power in our smile and with the few mentioned tips you can effectively carry out your role as a waiter anywhere and anytime.
This will be the end of my article and I hope that you all got to learn something valuable from it
