RE: My response to the update from Ned | What I think Dtube needs right now

in #steem6 years ago

I am glad dtube focuses on people who are consistent and work hard. I do not agree with the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality. If we had lots and lots of creators who were actually editing their videos instead of talking head videos only, there would be no discussion here. People who created videos for the fun of it and not for the cypto. Don't get me wrong I am all about getting value for my efforts, however, if I see people who are not putting in effort getting the same upvotes as myself (someone who puts 10 hrs into a 3 minute video) then I lose my shit at dtube. I get angry that the moderators give someone who did 0 editing the same upvote they give me who put in 100x the effort and passion.

However. Dtube doesn't need to upvote any of us, if they don't want to. The whales earned their money and can vote however they like. The 777 family cares for quality and upvoting posts that have not been given the recognition they deserve. People who beg for upvotes from people (not dtube) will never get the upvote they are looking for. They are doing it for the wrong reasons. Watch my latest Zmotiv video for inspiration.

I am tired of seeing no entertainment here on dtube. Personally I would like to see dtube become a place that has shows and entertainment . Currently we are in the building phase, we are all creators, filmmakers. We face a very difficult audience, us. Tailor your content to creators, or represent dtube by making dtube videos to promote the platform. There is nothing wrong with promoting dtube, however, I agree, as I am sure most people who have been here longer then 6 months; I do not watch videos about dtube and steem unless it is new information.

I am constantly searching for videos to give 100% upvotes to. Because that is what I do. I find entertainment and upvote it. That is what REA[d] and Zmotiv are, entertainment. So, I implore you all to start making your content valuable to you, something you would find yourself watching. That is what I do, I laugh, cry, get dramatic, and am entertained throughout the entire process of creating my videos. I will put little easter eggs in them to see if people spot them. I try my best to make it fun. Please people, stop making boring videos that have been made before. That is my 2 cents. @clixmoney is not crap @art.visuals you are crap, for jumping out the gate with such a negative, for no reason comment. Clix interviewed me in the beginning and I was very happy and excited for the opportunity. No one person is to blame for the current environment and if any one person is, its Ned. Dtube needs better curation, yes. However, give the team some slack, especially considering they don't owe you shit. Go post on Youtube and make $1 on 3,000 views, then subtract the taxes... Zainenn out.

I do crospost to Youtube. Always. Mainly for one major reason - at least I can be sure my video do not go into "unreachable" status, like they do here on DTube. Six week long lifespan? This is beyond my capability to even comment

Thanks a lot for such powerful comment. I think people just need to give it time and in the future dtube will be even better that youtube because everyone is running now from youtube. They can block people any time they want. In dtube noone can remove our channel. But on youtube only 3 strikes and the channel will be removed for ever, I've seen so many people there worked so hard and didn't withdraw a cent, even with the quality they are talking about. But here we can withdraw anytime.

So this was basically my message in this video. Attitudes towards the platform have to change if its to continue, we all need to be the change for it to happen, instead I see a lot of bad words in the comments and finger pointing. 😔😔
