What does it mean to be objective ?

I can say with assurance that being objective is to issue judgements about facts, immune to the desire and passion. Thus objectivity is the description of the terms and is not a recipe for reality, because reality is a separate subject itself. But in the vast worlds of politics, beauty, literature and thought, rarely we see a man which arrives to a situation in which he is objective, and in theses worlds we see the contradictory provisions, and even opposing, about one incident and one event.

However, the mind cannot be totally objective all the time in describing accidents and incidents and understanding them because that would make us lose our contact with reality and become close to being fools rather than superior thinkers. And if such case has prevailed in the culture of a community, then kiss that community goodbye.

It may be true that the breach of the principle of objectivity is a phenomenon that does not survive, East or West, but it has spread in the Arab world (especially in the world of understanding of the political situations and realities) in a way unparalleled in history, even one is surprised by the limit the overthrow of objectivity has reached.

Leave all parties involved in conflicts and disputes directly that cannot be objective in their rulings and speeches, and Ponder provisions and speeches of analysts and news anchors about these conflicts, then you will see the sincerity of what I have said about the death of objectivity.

Do you agree?

In Yemen, for example, there is a struggle to define the future of Yemen's political and governance there between a team that wants a normal state, based on the sovereignty of the state and its monopoly on power and equipment to protect itself and the system of rule represents all segments of civil society, on the other hand, another team seeks to impose authority by using armed force represented by the Houthi militia group and the remnants of military forces loyal to former governor Abdullah Saleh. This is the reality within Yemen described objectively. So why would an intellectual or a political analyst or a “researcher” flips the situation in Yemen upside down, no doubt he is sick.

Moving on to Turkey, what happened was a failed military coup against the political system and the governing authority because of its success in democratic elections. This is basically what happened, whatever our ideologies are. What is the meaning that we are hearing a speech denying the incident to talk about the ruling dictatorship? (see what I mean?)

The truth is that I can give dozens of examples about the phenomenon of objectivity’s death. I have a lot of speeches on the Syrian, Lebanese and Iraqi and Libyan facts etc.

The picture most pernicious in the killing of objectivity stands to deny and ignore the reasons and talk only about the results, it becomes a gateway to relieve the results from the conditions, at a time when we cannot isolate the reasons for the results we seek to understand and interpret.

Indeed, we are here in front of the phenomena of objective facts, not in front of aesthetic subjects related to self-taste. The difference about the aesthetic Eiffel Tower is due to the difference in taste, and the same is true for poetry and art. However, when we read the judgement of critics say that a famous poet is not a philosophical poet, we tend to judge the owner of such words of being not objective, this means that even the aesthetic phenomenon needs a luck of objectivity, let alone the facts on the ground.
