Can We Make a SteemIt Star?

in #steem7 years ago

With all of the posts regarding marketing, I thought I would throw this idea that fizzled out back up on the Platform.

I have heard people talking about bringing celebrities to SteemIt.  I have a better idea!

Let's make A Star - Let's make a Celebrity

Let's find a member that is successfully seeking celebrity.  A musician or actor someone the edge of making it.  Once identified, we get the whole community to blog about that person on SteemIt, on Twitter, or Facebook.  We use that person's name and #SteemIt in a lot of posts.  Maybe we create a win/win for this person and SteemIt.  Can we make it "trend"?  Create our own 4chan type trending group..

Let's give it a try.  Step one, if you or a Steemian you know is trying to make a name for yourself and gain exposure please identify yourself, your website or other social media and your work in the comments.  (Or nominate a Steemian of your choice)I will compile a list for the community to discuss.  We can select someone and see if we can get the whole community talking about that person on all available blogging/social media sites, and let's see if we can get that person... And SteemIt some attention. Please resteem or better yet, create your own post, looking for a Steem Star.  For discussion please use the tag #steemstar   Names that came up were @soundlegion, @MrWang, and @verbal-d

With the new marketing ideas going around, I decided to repost this.  I would love it if someone "stole" this idea and ran with it.  I don't see how it could hurt.

That's a great idea, there are a few on here who deserve that accolade :)

It's an interesting proposal. I've always been thinking we are just one viral hit away from making SteemIt mainstream. I mean, Youtube got popular on a fluke chance of 'cat videos' lol

Another great proposal

This is a much better idea than to source and pay (highly) for established celebrities, and they usually won't have the time too!

Resteemed! I definitely think this is something we should get on board with. A great way to promote steem and build a stronger community. I think finding a musician would gain the most attention from other sites. However, another idea is starting a "steemit challenge" of some sort that a bunch of us as a community participate in to collectively raise money for a charity, using some sort of steemit tag like you suggested! (similar to the ice bucket challenge that went around to raise money for ALS a few years ago). We could even incorporate bitcoin in the fundraiser too--I'm new so I can't really imagine how that would work, but it's an idea! Anyway, Great post :)
