The future of steemit

Obviously there is a discussion going on about the future of steemit. I have heard a few ideas for the future of this site. But i would like to know what u guys think will happen? Will steemit have a giant following like facebook and be the next big thing? Will it become kind of a hybrid with ebay like selling and buying of goods?
What do you guys think will happen and what do you think the best thing that could happen for the site would be?
