well thats a good point. But combining two factors (like with 2FA) there is statistical no chance to get both right. You can simply use facelock for account acsess and for small payments an additional pin. For wallet acsess a master key.

well, the down votepool will probably not counteract abuse. What do you think?

I proposed 2fa long ago, and was repeatedly blasted by witnesses and whales for it. With 2fa, why would we need facelock?

I reckon the DV pool will make abuse more profitable, and that's why it's coming.

Yes, you have a point. A simple 2fa is sufficient for safety. One can even combine 2fa with anti-spam/bot protection. As we can see under your comments, flag-bots can be used as weapons against users.

But then again, there would be still a problem with multiple accounts, because the 2fa does not identify you as a unique person.

I reckon the DV pool will make abuse more profitable, and that's why it's coming.

this would be very shortsighted, the price will drop when downvote becomes more toxic. It almost appears as if they want to destroy steemit/steem, like a bandit is burning his car to destroy evidence.

50% curation enables faster extraction of rewards, as does the proposed author rewards curve. Both suit rapid wringing of the last drops of value from the fruit already nearly dry from the incessant parasitism of profiteers. Add to this selling downvotes, and you have a recipe for quick sale of tokens and profiteers moving on. The price will drop if any one of these predictions is true, so all of them being true is the likely case IMHO, as quick action will be necessary to precede the plunge, or leave profiteers holding an ever shrinking bag.

It's possible this could be a good thing, in the long run, if these changes can be reversed, and sound policies put in place to encourage curation (actual curation, not profiteering) and the promotion of good content to draw a market. We'll see.
