How to win an Online Poll (Funny ideas at the end)

The current voting for the best cryptocurrency to be selected by BTCC is in its final four and Steem is behind. This is no major issue as even if we do not win we have some great PR and increase brand awareness. In addition we might strike back as we did in the previous rounds.

What can we do to win that apart from getting the word out and ask our fellow steemians and twitter friends to cast their vote? Here are some ideas how to win online polls - maybe some make also sense for our current one. Some voting contests are programmed smart without the chance to cheat. Why do the other Steemians think of the below approaches? Any fool can become king by using some techniques.

Be open and creative

The easiest way might be to sue voting bots or just buy votes - but that is not really creative and might be called cheating, depending on the contest rules. We all do very good in promoting e.g. via Twitter and Facebook groups already. But there are many other real ways to influence a poll - let us go down to some measures everyone can do.

  • Ask Your Friends and Family Members
Friends and Family can obviously help by voting, even more important is to ask them to invite their networks to vote if they don't mind. You might be surprised how that network is.

  • Use relations to folks who enter contests
Research and join sweepstakes clubs - you can even sign-up for Facebook pages about the topic where you can meet people who could potentially support you, and whom you can support in return.

  • Forum and Email signatures should include our contest voting link
If you participate in online forums be sure to change your signature to invite people to vote - do the same with your email signature.

  • Post and interact on forums that offer vote exchanges
There are a to our there and give you the opportunity to request votes for your contest entries when you support other forum members. Interaction is key here - so make sure not only place your own poll, but also vote for others, leave comments and engage.

  • Make your own commercial
A lot Steemians are creative video producers and graphic designer - so if you (unlike me) have the talent, come up with a funny and creative piece of art an ask others to support you via YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.

Be different - more ideas lol

  • Offer to cook for someone in exchange for a vote
  • Offer private dance in exchange for a vote
  • Create a slide deck asking for votes, listing the “why you should vote” points, and upload it to SlideShare
  • Leave post-it notes with your link in your school, office, city
  • Pin a request to vote inside public bathrooms
  • Voicemail - ask for votes in your voicemail message
