You are welcome. I think the suggestions here are mostly useful even when there is no problem, since they are also ideas that help the project grow even in good times.
I can understand management wanting to tighten up the scope of the project in order to avoid 'function creep' and challenges in managing communication and teamwork, but these too will be helped by improved and published design docs and commenting etc.
