LOOK where STEEM PRICES may be when BTC REACHES PRIOR HIGHS
I am conservatively predicting $15 median, $18 highs if BTC reaches it's prior highs of $20,000... Here's how I get those numbers.
- Recent highs in BTC terms were 91616 Satoshi, Jun 9, 2017. ATH was 651,000 Sat. some 11 months prior, (July 2016) but that was during the initial "PUMP" phase for a new coin. We will ignore that for now...
- As BTC loses it's luster relative to direct competitors and the ALT's as a group, new ratios are very likely, but we will just be a bit reserved for the moment.
- As STEEM Superiority becomes more and more apparent, Steem price in BTC terms is rising even when BTC prices are relatively static. Here's a couple of animated charts by @overkillcoin to demonstrate that Truth!

No other blockchain based system is even close, except for Bitshares, which is related to Steem... Got BitShares? ;)
Here's where it gets interesting, if we see this 90,000 Satoshi price again, with BTC at $20,000 we will have $18 STEEM. Here is the historic chart I screen-shot from coinmarketcap:

:D Certainly Not! But will BTC settle in at $20k? Maybe after a time, if it goes well over it, the new support will likely be $20k. Maybe more. We might even see Steem priced at 100,000 Satoshi. That's $20 Steem. This could all happen in the first quarter, barring a U$D catastrophe. But will that pull down Crypto, or will the new digital markets be a Safe Haven? It remains to be seen, but if Fiat and Crypto both take a hit, I still have my PMs, phyzzz to fall back on!

Steem $15 first quarter 2018!
It really impressive steem can do 10K a sec onchain.Steem Vs other blockhains:steem picks quilty nodes unlike bitcoin/eth/ltc which take all node. ntc/eth/ltc use the i want every one to run theory. Bch is by code like the others by reality bc of big block it the closest to steem but nodes do not get paid. Steem nodes are the miners so they earn and elected by the users so not just anyone can be a miner. While in theory less secure hence why ddos can affect steemit nodes, the better the tech/server more secure nodes get. Steem can do 3 second blocks and possibly bigger blocks a sec and do faster transaction and since nodes gt paid no problem. The get all nodes old way to scale so the nodes get paid without affecting the node performance aka LN. LN is a kinda like iota with the fact more nodes using LN the more transaction can do. Unlike iota LN 2 nodes can do 1 billion tps alone in theory.
Steem could use LN but it probably at max be used only in SMT and sbd transfers. Post/comment/upvotes/steempower must still stay on chain. For they have to be recorded. LN is made for rapid movement not hodl/permanent data. LN is a decentralized faster and secure version of hot wallets and cold wallets can just connect to an LN node and become a semihot wallet.
However LN is only been made. It quite possible at start every 2 nodes can only do 10K a second for the full potential of LN is not unlocked.

Steem will undoubtly go from strength to strength, its a platform for people who have no interest in Cryptocurency anyway, as it has the social, philosophical, travel and many other aspects that people can become apart of the platform for. We are new to Steem it, but already find it has more real content that facebook, linked in, reddit and instagram. Steem is the future!
I do not think your numbers are catalysts at all. I think steem is superior in every way to bitcoin. Not only is is lightning fast compared to it. The amount of energy it takes to run bitcoin is astronomical.
Agree, 'my numbers' are not a catalyst at all, they are just markers and indicators. Possible Future psychological barriers and/or support levels, but that is all. As we approach these markers, they may become goals for some, but may become warnings for others. The Bears see them as warnings, the Bulls see them as shining lights. Good Comment!

If we get anywhere close to that I will be ecstatic! Now I see that the $10 predictions are quite doable. Pretty darn conservative, in fact. I think $12-15-18 is a more likely range, but it's all uncertain until it actually happens.
How can steem blockchain support that nunber? What's the magic?

I think it's a very realistic number, maybe even low. BTC should get back to 20,000 in the next couple of months especially as tax rebates are coming soon so steem and steem dollars will be flying high and it's just gonna keep getting better. I wish I could see the numbers a year or 2 from now.
