Hey guys i have come up with an idea of contributing some of my post to scientific knowledge.
So here i am today with one basic instrument used in the industries.
COMPARATOR
What are comparators?
A comparator is an indicating gauge provided with means of magnification to enlarge very small differences between the dimension being checked and the standard size is to which the gauge has been set.
Comparators are of many types :-
- Mechanical
- Optical
- Electrical
- Electronic
- Pneumatic
Most commonly used is mechanical comparator.
Mechanical comparators:-
Mechanical comparators utilize means of magnifying the movement of a contact plunger.
These comparators are more commonly used as they are robust and easy to use.
These comparators have a linear scale.
